RaceTrack :: unofficial boat ranking
RaceTrack - Ranking Types Help
A 'Ranking Type' is a list of boats, all of whom meet criteria for inclusion in that ranking.
Currently, RaceTrack has the following rankings available.
RaceTrack. This is typically the default ranking which is used and a boat will be included in this ranking if it meets the following criteria.
- Has at least five races in the race database, excluding ladies, rum and cruising races, in the last 2 years.
- has had at least one race of any sort in the last year
- or if the owner has specifically asked the the above criteria to be waived for their boat
In this ranking list, races in the most recent twelve months are weighted more strongly than those in the previous twelve months. Races are also weighted more strongly in a series where it would normally be expected that the crews are highly commited, for example, a major class nationals, Line 7 and Bay of Islands Race Weeks. Any race of less than 40 minutes duration (typically sprint racing) is usually not weighted as strongly as longer racing.
Full History. The 'full history' ranking is the ranking list that covers racing of any sort, no matter how long ago, up until the present, in short, everything. This is a good place to find information about boats but the ranking should be treated with some caution, in particular where a boat has had only one or two races, it's ranking is not likely to be very accurate.
